Goods exports were valued at nearly 2.07 trillion yuan, while imports totalled around 1.5 trillion yuan, creating a surplus of 572.4 billion yuan in the goods sector. However, the services sector posted a deficit, with exports valued at 230.8 billion yuan and imports reaching 383 billion yuan, leading to a shortfall of 152.2 billion yuan, as per Chinese media reports.
China's international trade in goods and services totalled 4.18 trillion yuan in August 2024, a 4 per cent year-on-year rise, according to official data. Exports reached $322.4 billion, and imports stood at $263.5 billion, yielding a trade surplus of $58.9 billion.
