Pic: Adobe Stock According to SBS Zipper's market insight tool TexPro, fabric exports from China were valued at $1,766.431 million in the first seven months of this year, representing 82.01 per cent of the total shipment. Yarn exports were valued at $326.016 million, while fibre exports stood at $61.448 million, accounting for 15.14 per cent and 2.85 per cent of total textile exports to Indonesia, respectively, during the same period.
China's textile exports to Indonesia reached $2,153.895 million in the first seven months of 2024, slightly higher than last year. Fabric exports dominated, accounting for 82.01 per cent of total shipments. Man-made textile products led with 65.87 per cent, followed by cotton, flax, wool/animal hair, and silk. Yarn and fibre exports also showed strong performance.During January to July 2023, China’s fabric exports were recorded at $1,734.006 million, representing 82.89 per cent of the total textile exports, which amounted to $2,091.847 million. Yarn shipments totalled $278.986 million (13.34 per cent), and fibre shipments amounted to $78.853 million (3.77 per cent).
In 2023, China’s total textile exports were valued at $3,559.959 million, 11.31 per cent lower than the $4,013.521 million shipped in 2022. Fabric exports in 2023 amounted to $2,954.428 million, representing 82.99 per cent of the total. Yarn exports were valued at $478.519 million (13.44 per cent), and fibre shipments totalled $126.938 million (3.57 per cent).
Man-made textile products dominated with a 65.87 per cent share of total textile exports in the period from January to July 2024. China’s exports of man-made textile products were valued at $1,418.672 million. Shipments of cotton textile products during this period were valued at $462.072 million, accounting for 21.45 per cent of total exports. Flax textile product exports were valued at $42.705 million (1.98 per cent), wool/animal hair products at $26.966 million (1.25 per cent), silk products at $4.414 million (0.20 per cent), and other types of fibre at $199.062 million (9.22 per cent), according to TexPro.
