Switzerland and China yesterday started talks to upgrade the Sino-Swiss FTA and agreed to intensify consultations. Upgrading the FTA will help expand bilateral trade and boost two-way investment, and promote the upgrading of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, Chinese commerce minister Wang Wentao said. The FTA was signed in July 2013 and came into effect a year after.Signed in July 2013 and coming into effect a year after, the FTA has played a positive role in promoting the growth of bilateral trade, and enterprises in both countries have benefitted, Wang noted.
