Zippers consist of important components to work together. Here is a brief overview of the main parts that ensure a zipper operates effectively.

Zippers can be divided into three major parts: the tape, the teeth and the slider.

①Front and Back Head Tape.

The fabric tape on the zipper without teeth is called “zipper head tape”. The tape above the top stop of the zipper is the “front head tape” and the tape below the bottom stop is the “back head tape”.

②Top Stop

An element which is fixed on top of the chain restricts slider moving away.

③Slider

It is a movable component which makes teeth close and open.

④Puller

It is an element of the slider that can be designed in various geometric shapes and connects to the slider either directly or through an intermediary component, allowing the zipper to open and close.

⑤Teeth

Teeth are made of nylon, metal or plastic, having certain shapes after processing.

⑥Tape

A soft belt, which is made of cotton yarn and synthetic fiber, is used for bearing teeth and other components.

⑦Bottom Stop

An element which is fixed on the bottom of chain restricts slider moving away.
